June 1st: Tree Day – LED Partners with Youth for Plantain Reforestation

On the occasion of National Tree Day, celebrated on June 1st, the Lueur d’Espoir pour les Démunis (LED) Association reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection by hosting a plantain tree planting initiative with local children.

This initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of preserving nature. By involving children in planting plantain trees, LED instills values of responsibility, environmental stewardship, and solidarity. Children are tomorrow's leaders; educating them today on sustainable practices paves the way for a greener, more sustainable future.

Plantains are a vital crop that enhances food security, generates household income, and protects soil from erosion. Every sapling planted represents a concrete step toward safeguarding our planet and ensuring the well-being of future generations.

Through this activity, LED encourages children to become true environmental ambassadors within their families and communities. Together, they learn that a simple gesture, such as planting a tree, can have a lasting impact on everyone's lives.

On this National Tree Day, the Lueur d’Espoir pour les Démunis (LED) Association invites parents, youth, volunteers, and all citizens to join forces in protecting our environment. Together, let us plant the seeds of a brighter tomorrow, for the children of today are the stewards of nature tomorrow.
